Plan against the whole briefing
Open the mission archive and find today’s UTC date. Write down the five category-and-country pools before appointing anyone. Country coverage and authority coverage are already fixed: every completed cabinet must include one pick from each round.
Compare assignments of those same five picks. Changing a name within a pool does not change category-based scoring. Changing a seat can change normalized role fit, specialist bonuses, and critical-seat deductions. This is why the practice board swaps appointments rather than offering a name-based ranking.
A controlled appointment comparison
Consider an illustrative sequence of Billionaires, Poets, Pop Stars, Athletes, and Chefs. These are teaching pools, not a forecast of today’s puzzle. Both branches below optimize all remaining seats after the first appointment: each checks 24 continuations.
Locking the Billionaire as Vice President yields a best minimum of 137; reserving that pick for Treasurer yields 149. At equal battlefield variance, the Treasurer branch gains 12 points. Both cabinets still lack authority, and moving seats cannot fix that shared limitation.

Keep the five pools fixed and change one appointment plan. Compare role fit, bonuses, and deductions before comparing final scores: battlefield variance adds 0–20 points, and the 195 cap can hide improvements. The scoring guide documents the calculation.
A practice-board result is not a leaderboard submission. Play a complete Daily campaign to produce a verified record; the Daily leaderboard keeps your best eligible result. Replays can test a different plan, but do not make a small score increase proof of a better assignment.
